CIW

Command Interpreter Window - The window that launches any Virtuoso^® Design Environment application. The CIW logs your design session and reports messages.

OSS

Open Simulation System - It is the framework on which most ADE and Virtuoso Schematic Editor (VSE) netlisters are built. Prominent OSS-based netlisters are the Spectre, UltraSim, SpectreVerilog, UltraSimVerilog, Verilog, auCDL and auLVS netlisters.
